TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman softball team will welcome Monmouth to campus for Senior Day on Sunday, April 19, at 1 PM and 3 PM. Senior Day will take place before the first game of the doubleheader. The team will then host Transylvania in a doubleheader on Monday, April 20, at 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN SOFTBALL NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers stand at 11-15 overall and 1-7 in the HCAC this season.
* Rose-Hulman comes off a doubleheader loss to Franklin with scores of 8-2 and 7-5.

Jessica Newsom leads the team with a .360 batting average, totaling 31 hits, 28 runs scored, six home runs, and 18 RBIs.

Kayla Schnippel has been another reliable hitter with a .352 batting average, totaling 31 hits, 10 runs scored, and 15 RBIs.

Aubrey Smith is the top pitcher for the Fightin' Engineers, totaling 73.1 innings pitched, 49 strikeouts, and a 4.77 ERA.

* Transylvania ranks second in the HCAC standings with a record of 22-6 overall and 6-2 in the HCAC.
* The team comes off a doubleheader split with MSJ, winning game one 5-4, and falling in game two 8-3.
* The Pioneers are receiving votes in the latest NFCA Top-25 Poll.
* Ella Steczynski leads the team at the plate with a .413 batting average, totaling 38 hits, 21 runs, three doubles, three triples, and 20 RBIs.
* Raegan Gibson is the power hitter for Transy with a .387 batting average, totaling 29 hits, 15 runs, five doubles, and a team-high four homers, and 24 RBIs.
* Maddie Goddard leads the team in the pitching circle with 54.1 innings pitched, 34 strikeouts, and a 2.45 ERA.
* Transylvania was picked to win the conference in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 81 points and nine first-place votes.
