TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman softball team will continue HCAC play, hosting Anderson on Wednesday, April 22, at 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN SOFTBALL NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers currently ranks ninth in the HCAC standings with a record of 11-19 overall and 1-9 in the conference this season.
* Rose-Hulman comes off a busy week with 10 games across seven days, facing Principia, Spalding, Franklin, Monmouth, and Transylvania last week.
* The team comes off a doubleheader loss to Transylvania with final scores of 10-2 after five innings and 6-4.

Aubrey Smith has been a standout hitter for the Fightin' Engineers with a .365 batting average, totaling 31 hits, 22 runs, six doubles, one triple, four homers, and a team-high 23 RBIs.

Jessica Newsom is another power hitter for Rose-Hulman with a .347 batting average, totaling 34 hits, a team-high 31 runs, five doubles, a team-high six homers, and 19 RBIs.
* Smith is the top pitcher for the squad with 83.1 innings pitched, totaling 55 strikeouts and a 5.12 ERA.
* The Rose-Hulman softball team has been selected to finish sixth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 44 points.

* After hosting Anderson, Rose-Hulman will travel to take on Berea in HCAC action on Saturday, April 25, at 1 PM and 3 PM.
ANDERSON SOFTBALL NOTES:
* Anderson sits in seventh place in the HCAC standings with a record of 12-20 overall and 6-6 in the HCAC this season.
* The team comes off a doubleheader loss to St. Mary's with scores of 10-4 and 13-5.
* Alexis Schultz leads the team at the plate with a .397 batting average, totaling 25 hits, 11 runs, and 17 RBIs.
* Avery Owens is another top hitter with a .330 average, with 31 hits, 18 runs, and seven RBIs.
* Hannah Merkel is the top pitcher for Anderson with 52.2 innings pitched, totaling 38 strikeouts and a 3.85 ERA.
* The Ravens were picked to finish eighth in the HCAC Preseason Poll with 26 points.
* The team is led by Head Coach Tony Holloway in his 17th season with the Ravens.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Anderson will travel to take on Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, April 25, at 1 PM and 3 PM.
ANDERSON SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails the all-time series against Anderson with a record of 13-28 overall.
* The Fightin' Engineers split their doubleheader against the Ravens last season, falling in game one 7-4, and defeating Anderson in game two 12-9.
* Before that, Rose-Hulman had won five straight games against Anderson, dating back to the 2022 season.
