TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman softball team will wrap up their regular season, traveling to face Bluffton on Saturday, May 2, at 3 PM and 5 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN SOFTBALL NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers currently ranks eighth in the HCAC standings with a record of 16-20 overall and 6-10 in the conference this season.
* Rose-Hulman comes an exciting doubleheader against Hanover, sweeping the Panthers with scores of 6-4 and 4-3.

Jessica Newsom has been a strong hitter for Rose this season with a .388 batting average, totaling 47 hits, 36 runs scored, nine doubles, 28 RBIs, and a team-high eight home runs.

Aubrey Smith is another standout with a .349 batting average, totaling 37 hits, 24 runs, seven doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 25 RBIs.
*
Rosie Travioli has been a standout freshman for the squad with a team-high .410 batting average, totaling 32 hits, 24 runs scored, and 15 RBIs.
* Smith is also the star pitcher for the Fightin' Engineers with 105.1 innings pitched, totaling 65 strikeouts and a 4.25 ERA.
* The Rose-Hulman softball team has been selected to finish sixth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 44 points.
* The team is led by Head Coach
Brian Shearer in his 24th season with the Fightin' Engineers softball program.
* If Rose-Hulman sweeps Bluffton, the team will have a chance to sneak into the HCAC Tournament as the #6 seed. The will need Manchester and Anderosn to lose out to qualify for the tournament.
* The HCAC Tournament will take place in Kokomo, Indiana, from Thursday, May 7, to Sunday, May 10.
BLUFFTON SOFTBALL NOTES:
* Bluffton currently ranks fifth in the HCAC rankings with a record of 20-14 overall and 8-8 in the HCAC.
* The Beavers split their doubleheader against Transylvania, winning game one with a score of 5-3 and falling in game two, 5-2.
* Madison Brentlinger leads the team at the plate with a .436 batting average, totaling 48 hits, 47 runs scored, six doubles, two homers, and 18 RBIs.
* Leah Ramirez is the power hitter for the Beavers with a .408 batting average, totaling 40 hits, six doubles, a team-high eight home runs, and a team-high 33 RBIs.
* Grace Gronberg is the team's top pitcher with 104.2 innings pitched, totaling 95 strikeouts and a 4.21 ERA.
* Bluffton was selected to finish ninth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 18 points.
* The team is led by Head Coach Paige Jansen in her fifth season with Bluffton.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Bluffton will compete in the HCAC tournament in Kokomo, Indiana, from Thursday, May 7, to Sunday, May 10.
