TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly awards for the sport of women's track & field. Rose Talbert has been named the HCAC Sprint Athlete of the Week, receiving the final award of the 2026 season. 

Talbert led the Fightin' Engineers women's team at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.18. 

The junior chemical and mechanical engineering major was not able to beat her best time this season, but still qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships, ranking 18th in the event. 

This is the 15th HCAC Athlete of the Week honor for Talbert in her college career with the Fightin' Engineers. 

Talbert and two other student-athletes will continue their season, traveling to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin, from Thursday, May 21, to Saturday, May 23.
