TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman athletic department will be featuring multiple student-athletes across all of their varsity sports teams this summer in the Fightin' Engineers to Watch media campaign.
 
Men's golf's Fightin' Engineer to Watch is Austin Frick as he enters his senior season.

Frick has had an extraordinary career at Rose-Hulman, where he has been named to the All-HCAC First Team in all three seasons, while winning two HCAC Tournament Championships. During the 2025-26 season, he appeared in 11 rounds of golf, where he set the single-season school record with an average round score of 72.18. Frick also ranks first in school history with a career scoring average of 73.67 and the best 36-hole score at 138 (-4).
 
During his time as a student-athlete, Frick has been able to form some of his closest friendships and favorite memories. "The Rose-Hulman golf program has been one of the highlights of my college experience, and it has helped me grow into a better leader and teammate," said Frick. "My goals for next season are to stay healthy and compete throughout the entire season, while building a team-first culture. As the only senior playing alongside seven newcomers, I want to instill the belief that we belong at the National Championship every year."
 
Alongside his school record with a 72.18 scoring average this year, the Geneva, Illinois native has recorded the second and third-highest scoring averages in a season. Frick posted a 73.63 scoring average during 2023-24 and a 73.98 scoring average during 2024-25. During the 2024-25 season, he would also finish second overall in the HCAC Championships with a score of 220 (+10).
 
Frick is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, and he is currently completing an internship with Keurig Dr. Pepper in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He is a member of the Brew Engine team, where he designs the internal components of future Keurig brewers, giving him hands-on experience in product development and engineering design. "Outside of work, I have been enjoying summer evenings on Lake Michigan and spending as much time as I can on the golf course," said Frick.
 
In order to be successful at Rose-Hulman, Frick believes that you need a supportive community and an outlet beyond academics. "Being a student-athlete at Rose gives you a built-in family while allowing you to continue pursuing a passion you love. For me, golf has always been an escape from the demands of Rose, which is needed from time to time."
 
The Fightin' Engineers will be seeking their third HCAC Championship in the last four years during the 2026-27 season. The team will begin the year at the Transylvania Invitational on Saturday, September 5 through Sunday, September 6.
