TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team looks to return to winning ways Saturday, Oct. 25, when the Fightin' Engineers travel to Hanover for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
The Engineers had their five-game unbeaten streak snapped Wednesday as the Earlham Quakers left Terre Haute with a 2-1 overtime victory.
Offensively, sophomore Ben Lyon continues to pace the Engineers with a team-high seven goals and 14 points. The Westfield, Ind., native scored both goals in Rose-Hulman's recent 2-0 victory at Manchester.
Junior Dieter Schultz is second on the team in points with seven, and leads Rose-Hulman with five assists.
Defensively, the Engineers have surrendered just 10 goals in 16 games this season. Senior goalkeeper Drew Miller ranks in the top 30 in the national in goals against average (.595). Miller has totaled 54 saves along with nine shutouts.
Hanover comes into the game with a 4-8-3 record including a 2-2-2 mark in the HCAC. The Panthers tied their last two opponents, 0-0 at Anderson and 1-1 at Franklin.
Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with Hanover 18-5-1. The Engineers have not lost to the Panthers since 2002.
After the game with Hanover, Rose-Hulman returns home for its final two regular season games. The Engineers will play Anderson on Oct. 29 and Bluffton on Nov. 1.
