TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team opens the season with a ten-game trip to Florida starting Monday, March 2.
Rose-Hulman returns 10 letterwinners including the entire pitching staff. The Engineers also return seniors Carly Heibel and Jessica Ahlborn, the top two home run hitters in program history.
Last season, the Engineers finished 19-16 overall including a 10-6 mark in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play. Rose-Hulman also qualified for the HCAC Tournament for the first time since the 2008 season.
The Spring Trip includes ten games spread over five days in Florida. The Fightin' Engineers open the season on Monday with a 9 a.m. matchup against St. Vincent. Other matchups include Wesleyan on Monday; Susquehanna and Adrian on Tuesday; Finlandia and Otterbien on Wednesday; Potsdam St. and Misericordia on Thursday; and Mount Union and St. Mary's (Minn.) on Friday.
