ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Fightin' Engineer softball team will travel to Webster University on Saturday for a doubleheader slated for 1 p.m. Rose-Hulman is coming off of a week break due to cancellations for the weather and look to improve on their 6-4 record.
Webster is 1-7 overall and have not played a game since their Florida Spring Trip which wrapped up on March 8th.
Sophomore Gabbi Markison leads the team in batting average with .355. Other leaders in the category include: Marissa Stout (.300), Jessica Will (.294), Michelle Korf (.290), and Jenny Miller (.286).
Senior Taylor Lockhart was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the week last week based on her efforts during the Spring Trip. She posted a 0.41 earned run average and tallied 32 strikeouts in 34 innings played.
Rose-Hulman's home opener with Milwaukee School of Engineering, scheduled for Sunday March 20, has been postponed and will be rescheduled later. The Fightin' Engineers host Spalding University in the home opener on Saturday March 26.
