ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Fightin' Engineer softball team will host Spalding University on Saturday for a doubleheader slated for 1 p.m. Rose-Hulman is currently 7-5 on the season after 1-1 split at Webster University last weekend.
Spalding is currently 5-5 on the season and will face Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Hanover College on March 24th before traveling to Rose-Hulman.
Sophomore Gabbi Markison leads the team in batting average with .306. Other leaders in the category include: Jessica Will (.286), JJett Bender (.276), and Michelle Korf (.270).
Senior Taylor Lockhart has tabbed a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the week this season based on her efforts during the Florida Spring Trip. She posts a 0.35 earned run average and has tallied 38 strikeouts in 40 innings played.
After this weekend, the Rose-Hulman softball team will travel to Defiance College for their first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup of the season. The doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd.
