TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology returns to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference softball action with a doubleheader at Franklin College on Tuesday starting at 3:30.
Rose-Hulman stands 10-12 overall and 1-5 in league play after falling to Transylvania and Bluffton last weekend. Franklin is 20-10 on the season and is 5-5 in conference play.
Rose-Hulman features an offense that includes three starters hitting over the .300 mark. Jessica Will leads the team in batting average at .347 with six doubles and two home runs. Jenny Miller has a .344 averages and leads the team in home runs (15) and slugging (.656). Gabbi Markison stands at .313 with five doubles, and Marissa Stout leads the team with 16 RBIs and has eight extra-base hits.
In the pitching circle, senior Taylor Lockhart leads the staff with a 6-4 record and a 1.71 earned run average. Jenny Miller is 3-2 with a 2.94 ERA, while Michelle Korf has contributed a 3.98 earned run average in 31.2 innings.
Franklin has won four straight games to move to 20-10 on the season. The Grizzlies are batting .481 as a team, led by Megan Lalioff at .481 and Katie Struewing with 23 extra base hits and a .402 average. The pitching staff has a 3.13 earned run average, led by Olivia Paszek at 12-4 with a 2.10 ERA.
After Tuesday's matchup, Rose-Hulman hosts Hanover College in another conference doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
