TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hosts Anderson University in the annual Homecoming Game on Saturday at Cook Stadium.
The Fightin' Engineers enter the Homecoming matchup with a 3-1 record and a 2-0 mark in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Rose-Hulman has relied on its defense for the solid start, leading the HCAC in scoring defense (14.0 ppg) and total defense (333.5 yards per game). The defense has also forced 12 sacks, seven interceptions and four fumbles in the first four games.
Sophomore John Kirby leads the defensive statistics with 29 tackles and two interceptions. Junior Kaelen Garner leads the HCAC in sacks (5.5), while senior Sterling Mitchell and junior Alec Thompson have team-hghs with five pass breakups.
Offensively, senior Austin Swenson holds nearly 20 school records entering the Homecoming game. Swenson is the career school record holder in pass completions (588), completion percentage (65.3%) and passing touchdowns. Senior Alec Fisher has added a career school record 29 touchdown receptions and ranks among the top five in receptions (172) and receiving yards (2,128).
On the ground, the duo of junior Kevin Dufauchard and junior Stanley Hogan III have each rushed for 100 yards in a game this season to help balance the attack.
Anderson stands 1-3 on the season and 1-1 in HCAC play, highlighted by a 31-14 win over Earlham. The youthful Ravens start 11 freshmen, including seven on offense. Triston Anderson has led the offense by completing 53-of-101 passes for 710 yards and six touchdowns. Alec Monte leads the team with 21 solo tackles and 18 assists.
After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman hits the road for Mount St. Joseph on Oct. 8.
