Track & Field Teams Travel to DePauw This Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hits the road for the DePauw University Tiger Invitaitonal on Saturday in Greenastle.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes:

* The men's track and field team enters the weekend with a 21-6 dual meet record this season.
* The women's track and field team enters the weekend with a 19-9 dual meet record this season.
* Both teams are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region rankings.  The men stand at No. 6, and the women are No. 11 in the region.
* Three Rose-Hulman student-athletes are the current HCAC Athletes of the Week.  Lauren London won the Women's Field weekly honor; Noah Thomas won the Men's Track award for the second time; and Nathan Schrader was the Men's Field weekly winner. 
* Three Fightin' Engineers have earned multiple HCAC Athlete of the Week awards this season.  Lauren London has been named HCAC Track (once) and HCAC Field Athlete of the Week (twice); Thomas is a 2-time Track Athlete of the Week; and Eric Fiacable is a 2-time Field Athlete of the Week.
* Rose-Hulman won the HCAC "Double Triple Crown" in 2018.  The Fightin' Engineers swept the HCAC men's and women's team championships in cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field to accomplish the feat.
* Rose-Hulman enters the 2019 indoor track and field season with 19 consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference team championships.  The men have won 11 consecutive HCAC outdoor championships and 8 straight HCAC indoor titles.
* The women's program earned its second indoor and first outdoor HCAC team championship in 2018.  The only previous team track and field title for the Rose-Hulman women came during the 2011 indoor season.
* Since joining the HCAC in 2006, Rose-Hulman student-athletes have combined to win 223 HCAC individual and relay event championships.
* Returning 2018 HCAC indoor event champions for this season include: Clare Bruns (4-x-400 relay); Lois Cheatham (4-x-400 relay); Lauren London (60-meter hurdles and long jump); Adekite Oladipupo (4-x-200 relay); Aaron Lannoy (800-meter run); and Matthew Stevenot (3,000-meter run)
* Rose-Hulman has five top-three rankings in the Great Lakes Region this week.  Aaron Lannoy is 1st in the 800-meters; Lauren London is 1st in the long jump and 3rd in the 60-hurdles; Noah Thomas is 2nd in the 200-meters; and Nick Palmer is 1st in the pole vault.

The Competition:
* The Saturday meet at DePauw begins at 11 a.m.  

Upcoming Action:
* After this weekend's action, Rose-Hulman will travel to Defiance for the HCAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 16.
