Track & Field Season Continues Saturday at Washington U.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will continue the 2019 track and field season at the WashU Mini Meet in St. Louis on Saturday.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes:

  • Rose-Hulman opened the 2019 outdoor track and field season with team wins in both the men's and women's action at the RHIT Early Bird Meet last weekend.
  • Trey Sykes was named HCAC Field Athlete of the Week after sweeping the long jump and triple jump event titles.
  • Individuals currently ranking in the top 12 of NCAA Division III outdoor performances this season include: Eric Fiacable (#4 hammer - 184' 3"); Trey Sykes (#5 triple jump - 44' 9 3/4"); Nathan Schrader (#6 javelin - 183' 5"); Mary-Helen Shomba (#8 100 hurdles - 15.13); Cameron Prisby (#9 pole vault - 14' 6"); and Fiacable (#11 discus - 142' 7").
  • Rose-Hulman has won the team title at 20 consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's track and field championship events.  The Fightin' Engineers have 11 straight Outdoor titles and 9 straight Indoor championships.
  • Rose-Hulman has also won the team title at the last three HCAC women's track and field championship events.  The Fightin' Engineers won the 2018 and 2019 HCAC indoor titles and are the reigning 2018 Outdoor champions.
  • Rose-Hulman ended the indoor season ranked No. 6 on the men's side and No. 8 on the women's side in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region rankings.
