TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology competes in the two-day Eastern Illinois Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes:

• Rose-Hulman swept first-place honors at the RHIT Early Bird Meet to open the outdoor season.  Last weekend, the men placed 2nd and the women were 6th in the competitive Washington University Invitational. 
• Noah Thomas is the current HCAC Track Athlete of the Week after setting a school record in the 100-meter dash and recording a strong 200-meter time last weekend.
• Trey Sykes was named HCAC Field Athlete of the Week after the RHIT Early Bird Meet, after sweeping the long jump and triple jump event titles.
• Individuals currently ranking in the top 20 of NCAA Division III outdoor performances this season include: Trey Sykes (#3 triple jump, 46' 1 1/4"); Eric Fiacable (#4 hammer 191' 11" and #17 discus 143' 8"); Dara Smith (#6 high jump 5' 3"); Nathan Schrader (#12 in javelin 183' 5" and #20 in discus 142' 11"); Noah Thomas (#15 100-meter dash 20.91 seconds); Mary-Helen Shomba (#16 100 hurdles 15.13 seconds); Cameron Prisby (#18 pole vault 14' 6"); and Jonah Yates (#18 in discus 143' 2").
• Rose-Hulman has won the team title at 20 consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's track and field championship events.  The Fightin' Engineers have 11 straight Outdoor titles and 9 straight Indoor championships.
• Rose-Hulman has also won the team title at the last three HCAC women's track and field championship events.  The Fightin' Engineers won the 2018 and 2019 HCAC Indoor titles and are the reigning 2018 Outdoor champions.
• Rose-Hulman ended the indoor season ranked No. 6 on the men's side and No. 8 on the women's side in the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region rankings.
