TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hosts its second "Friday Night Spikes Series" meet in January with the Friday Night Invitational on Jan. 24 at the Sports and Recreation Center.

Rose-Hulman News & Notes:

* Rose-Hulman opened the 2020 season by finishing 2nd in men's and women's team scores at the Friday Night Spikes Opener last weekend.
* Two school records fell for Rose-Hulman.  Nathan Schrader (weight throw) and Mary-Helen Shomba (60 hurdles) set school records and were earned HCAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday.
* Rose-Hulman swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Team Championships in 2019.
* The Rose-Hulman men's track and field team has been picked as the HCAC preseason favorites, while the women have been picked to finish second (DETAILS).
* Rose-Hulman enters the 2020 indoor track and field season with 21 consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference team championships.  The men have won 12 consecutive HCAC outdoor championships and 9 straight HCAC indoor titles.
* The women's program has won four HCAC Championships: 2019 (Indoor), 2018 (Outdoor), 2018 (Indoor) and 2011 (Indoor).
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with over 90 track and field student-athletes on its combined roster, the largest total in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers will host the 2020 HCAC Indoor Championships on February 22 and will also host the 2020 HCAC Outdoor Championships on April 24-25.

The Competition:
* Team competing in the Friday Night Invitational include: Campbellsville (Ky.), Franklin, Kentucky Wesleyan, Millikin, Rose-Hulman, St. Norbert

Upcoming Action:
* After this weekend's action, Rose-Hulman will return home for the Engineer Invitational (which doubles as the program's Senior Night) on Jan. 31.  That meet will also begin at 6 p.m.
