TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hosts its third "Friday Night Spikes Series" with the 2020 Engineer Invitational on Jan. 31 at the Sports and Recreation Center.
The Senior Day Recognition Ceremony begins at 5:15 pm, with the meet beginning at 6 pm (triple jump events at 5:30).
Senior Day honorees include Evan Ammidown, Cora Arnold, Clare Bruns, Nathan Ciriacks, Kristin East, Katlyn Edwards, Gabrielle Gilbertson, Nolan Gross, Ben Hall, Kyle Haynes, Erik Hobbs, Alex Huber, Alexa Kovacs, Aaron Lannoy, Sydney Larson, Tyler McCormick, Eric Mitalo, Adekite Oladipupo, Cameron Prisby, Nathan Schrader, Karl Schumacher, Rachel Shubella, Jacob Sparks, Dallas Spencer, Matthew Stevenot, Jake Untener, Alexis Updike, Jessica Wells and Kristian Zadlo.
Rose-Hulman News & Notes:
* The Rose-Hulman men have finishes of 1st and 2nd in the first two Friday Night Spikes Series Meets this season. The women brought home 2nd and 4th place honors in the same two meets.
* Mary-Helen Shomba has been named the HCAC Track Athlete of the Week twice this season after setting school records in the 60-meter hurdles twice in 2020.
* Shomba currently ranks No. 5 in NCAA Division III with her school record 60-meter mark of 9.05 seconds set last weekend.
* Kristian Zadlo is the reigning HCAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after helping win one individual and one relay event last weekend.
* Nathan Schrader was also named HCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after the first meet of the year after setting a school record in the weight throw and winning the shot put.
* Rose-Hulman swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Team Championships in 2019.
* The Rose-Hulman men's track and field team has been picked as the HCAC preseason favorites, while the women have been picked to finish second (DETAILS).
* Rose-Hulman enters the 2020 indoor track and field season with 21 consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference team championships. The men have won 12 consecutive HCAC outdoor championships and 9 straight HCAC indoor titles.
* The women's program has won four HCAC Championships: 2019 (Indoor), 2018 (Outdoor), 2018 (Indoor) and 2011 (Indoor).
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with over 90 track and field student-athletes on its combined roster, the largest total in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers will host the 2020 HCAC Indoor Championships on February 22 and will also host the 2020 HCAC Outdoor Championships on April 24-25.

* After this weekend's action, Rose-Hulman will travel to DePauw on Feb. 7 and Illinois Wesleyan on Feb. 8.
