MEET RESULTS
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's track and field team won 12 events to easily outdistance Bluffton and Franklin and win the Friday Night Spikes Series opener at the Sports and Recreation Center.
Rofiat Adeyemi,
Nosa Igiehon and
Cassie Utley each won two events to lead the Fightin' Engineer performance. Adeyemi swept the long jump (17' 1 1/4") and triple jump (34' 11 1/4"), Igiehon won the high jump (4' 11 1/2") and the 60-meter hurdles (10.00 seconds) and Utley swept the shot put (34' 10 1/2") and weight throw (41' 1 3/4").
Other individual winners for Rose-Hulman included
Kaia Johnson in the 3,000-meter run (11:37.91);
Madison Lindfelt in the 800 (2:47.34);
Claire Perkins in the pole vault (8' 6 1/4"); and
Maggie Sheerin in the mile (5:51.80).
The Fightin' Engineers also swept the 4-x-200 and 4-x-400 meter relay events. The 4-x-200 team of
Adekite Oladipupo,
Katrina Agustin,
Emily Peterson and
Christina Rogers won in a time of 1:52.26. Peterson,
Dara Smith,
Lois Cheatham and Rogers brought home the 4-x-400 meter event victory in 4:31.16.
The Rose-Hulman Friday Night Spikes Series continues with another home meet next weekend.
