GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's track and field team won seven events to bring home second-place honors at the DePauw Quad Meet on Saturday afternoon.
Seven different individuals brought home event wins for the Fightin' Engineers.Â
Claire Perkins led the effort with a winning pole vault mark of 10' 4" that ranks No. 2 in Rose-Hulman school history.
Other field event winners included
Aaliyah Briggs in the javelin (105' 8");
Dara Smith in the high jump (5' 0 1/4"); and
Cassie Utley in the discus (124' 11").
In track events, Rose-Hulman winners included
Madison Lindfelt in the 3000-steeplechase (12:33.07);
Emily Peterson in the 400 (1:02.50); and
Kaia Johnson in the 5000 (19:08.11).
Four second-place efforts included
Sarozjani Hunter in the 3000-steeplechase (12:57.68); Smith in the 400 (1:03.18);
Kyra Hicks in the triple jump (33' 9 1/2"); and
Samantha Nystrom in the javelin (102' 10").
Peterson also contributed a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash.
DePauw won the meet with 190.5 points to top a tight battle for second that included Rose-Hulman (151.5), Trine (150) and Manchester (131).
Rose-Hulman will host its annual Twilight Meet this Friday at Cook Stadium.
