2021 ROSE-HULMAN FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The 2021 Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football schedule features five home games, highlighted by a Homecoming showdown against defending Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Hanover College on October 9.

Rose-Hulman finished 4-1 in the 2020-21 spring season by averaging 35.2 points per game and allowing just 13.6.  The Fightin' Engineers picked up road wins at Mount St. Joseph and Bluffton, with the only blemish a 27-24 loss at Hanover.  The 2020-21 spring season also featured home wins over Defiance and Franklin.

The fall 2021 schedule opens with the renewal of an in-state rivalry against Wabash College on Sept. 4.  The Fightin' Engineers and Little Giants will meet for the 49th time and the first time since 1997.  Wabash finished 7-4 and reached the NCAA Division III Playoffs in 2019.  Rose-Hulman's Cook Stadium will be the site with a 7 pm kickoff.

Two new opponents from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association will complete the non-conference schedule.  Rose-Hulman meets Trine University for the first time ever on Sept. 11 at 7 pm in Angola, Indiana.  The Fightin' Engineers then travel to Hope College in Holland, Michigan, on Sept. 18 at 2 pm.  Hope finished 9-2 and reached the NCAA Division III Playoffs in 2019, while Trine was 5-5.

The HCAC schedule begins with a road trip to Defiance on Oct. 2, prior to the Homecoming game against Hanover on Oct. 9.  Defiance finished 2-5 this spring, while Hanover completed the shortened season at 4-0 as the regular season conference champions.  The Homecoming Game includes three of the last four NCAA playoff teams from the HCAC, as Rose-Hulman qualified for postseason play in 2016 and Hanover represented the league in 2018 and 2019.

Rose-Hulman hosts Anderson on Oct. 16, before traveling to Manchester on Oct. 23 in a pair of in-state matchups.  The Fightin' Engineers then host Bluffton in the Hall of Fame Game on Oct. 30.  Rose-Hulman will induct both the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 inductees into the Hall of Fame prior to kickoff, then recognizse the members of both classes at halftime of the Bluffton matchup.

The season concludes with a road game at Franklin on Nov. 6, followed by a home game against Mount St. Joseph on Nov. 13.  Rose-Hulman defeated both teams in quality games last season, topping Franklin 34-14 and Mount St. Joseph 31-21.
