TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football team travels to Trine University for the second game of the 2021 season. Kickoff time is 7 pm in Angola, Indiana.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman dropped a 33-23 decision to Wabash in an entertaining season opener last Saturday night.

Andrew Dion had his 9th career 300-yard passing game against Wabash with 341 yards through the air. Dion ranks No. 3 in school history in passing yards (6,920) and No. 2 in touchdown passes (65).

Kyzer Bowen led the defense with 12 tackles and 2.5 tackles-for loss against Wabash.
Michael Stevens added 11 tackles.
* Stevens was named HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week for this week after blocking two extra points in the contest.

Rashard Brown led the Fightin' Engineers with five interceptions this season and also had an interception against Wabash.
* Two Rose-Hulman players have been selected preseason All-Americans.

Shane Welshans has been named a first-team Preseason All-American by College Football America; second-team by Lindy's Football Magazine; and third-team by D3football.com. Welshans was a secondteam D3football.com All-American in 2020-21 after leading the team with 681 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns and five receiving touchdowns last spring.

Michael Stevens was also named a first-team Preseason All-American by College Football America; and second-team by Lindy's Football Magazine. Stevens led Rose-Hulman with 51 tackles, 2 interceptions and 1 interception return for a touchdown.
TRINE NOTES:
* Trine picked up a 52-14 win at Manchester in its season opener on Thursday Sept. 2.
*Â Alex Price finished 9-16 through the air for 312 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Thunder offense.
*Â Xaine Kirby rushed for 109 yards and three scores to balance the ground game...three receivers (Connor Arthur, Kyran Pearson and Brandon Kline) gained between 94 and 98 yards in the win.
* Defensively, Tyler Pollard had a team-high seven tackles. Highlight plays included a 62-yard interception return by Jamon Gibson, three INTs and two fumble recoveries.
