MEET RESULTS
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's track and field team picked up a narrow 6-point victory in Friday Night Spikes Meet #3 at the Sports and Recreation Center.
Rose-Hulman relied on a second-place finish in the 4-x-400 meter relay to overcome a slight deficit and top St. Mary-of-the-Woods 118-112 in the team scoring. Millikin (86), Hanover (80) and Franklin (30) rounded out the team scores.
Rofiat Adeyemi won two events, highlighted by the No. 2 mark in school history in the triple jump. Adeyemi won the triple jump with her No. 2 ranked effort of 36' 10 1/2". She also won the long jump with a leap of 16' 10 1/2".
Evelyn Utley added the night's third win, taking home top honors in the shot put with a mark of 38' 10 1/2".
Rose-Hulman relied on eight second-place finishes to bolster the team score.
The 4-x-400 meter relay that clinched the meet win included
Emily Peterson,
Lane Lawrence,
Liv Aspholm and
Christina Rogers in a time of 4:22.63. The 4-x-200 meter relay of Peterson,
Katrina Agustin, Lawrence and Rogers also placed second in 1:51.81.
Field event runner-up finishers included
Kyra Hicks in the triple jump (33' 5 3/4");
Jada Hunter-Hays in the high jump (4' 7 3/4"); and
Cameron Weber in the weight throw (43' 3 3/4").
Track event runner-up finishers included Peterson in the 400 (1:03.61);
Abi Clayton in the 800 (2:34.09); and
Abigail Kurfman in the 3000 (11:37.90).
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the DePauw Invitational on Friday Feb. 4.
