HANOVER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's track and field team relied on three first-place finishers to come home 4th at the Hanover Invitational on a cold and windy Saturday in Southern Indiana.
Aaliyah Briggs won the javelin with a toss of 121' 5" to lead a 1-2-3 Fightin' Engineer finish in the event.
Kaia Johnson added a victory in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 42:53.16.
Kyra Hicks had the third win of the day with a triple jump mark of 32' 4 3/4".
Runner-up finishers included
Abigail Kurfman in the 10,000 (43:36.34) and
Evelyn Utley in the javelin (114' 8").
Third-place tallies were recorded by
Samantha Nystrom in the javelin (102' 11") and Utley in the shot put (37 1 3/4").
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Millikin Invitational next weekend.
