TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will compete in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament in Kokomo starting Thursday.  The winner of the 5-team, double elimination tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

10 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ROSE-HULMAN BASEBALL ENTERING THE HCAC TOURNAMENT:
* First-year head coach Adam Rosen came to Rose-Hulman after spending the last six seasons as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis.  Rosen was part of a team that won 34 games and finished 4th at the NCAA Division III World Series in 2021.
* Josh Mesenbrink has set a new single-season home run record at Rose-Hulman in 2022.  Mesenbrink has 14 home runs and enters the HCAC Tournament as the team leader in batting average (.388), runs scored (44), RBIs (48) and slugging (.827).
* Manuel Lopez leads the team in doubles (15) and triples (5) while batting .367 with 40 hits, 27 runs scored and 26 RBIs.
* Colter Coulliard-Rodak is the third Fightin' Engineer with double-figure douibles (13) and has added 43 hits.
* Brett Tuttle has shown versatile power with 6 doubles, 4 triples and 6 home runs to go along with a .331 batting average.
* Mesenbrink, Tuttle and Ian Kline have each been named HCAC Player of the Week and earned a spot on the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week at some point during the 2022 season.
* Ian Kline has led the pitching staff with a 7-2 record, a 2.67 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 60.2 innings of work.
* The starting pitching rotation has also included Brett Borcherding (2-1, 38 K, 37 IP), Matthew Rouse (3-4, 3.03, 40 K in 32.2 IP) and Josh Erpenbeck (3-1, 34 K, 42 IP).
* Adam Taylor and Schuyler Wilcox lead the bullpen with 3 saves each.  Korey Marlow (3-0, 1.13 ERA, 24 IP), Jonathan Oliger (1-0, 2.03), Paul Durell (1-0, 3.00) and Michael Yager (2-0, 5.40) have also thrown double digit innings this year.
* Rose-Hulman has made the NCAA Division III Tournament field 7 times, most recently with a trip to the NCAA Division III Central Regional Championship Game in 2016.
