TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman baseball team has announced it will scrimmage Indiana State at Bob Warn Field on Sunday, October 18, at 1 PM. The game will serve as the Sycamores' seventh annual CUREFA game, with all proceeds from the game going to the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA).

The scrimmage will benefit the fight against Friedreich's Ataxia (FA), a degenerative neuromuscular disorder that affects one in 50,000 people in the United States. 

The Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance is supporting research that will improve the quality and length of life for those diagnosed with FA and will lead to treatments that eliminate its symptoms. More information about FA can be found at CureFA.org.

"First, we want to thank Coach Archuleta and the Indiana State Baseball program for inviting us to participate in the CUREFA Game," said Rose-Hulman Head Coach Adam Rosen. "This will be an awesome opportunity for our players to play at Bob Warn Field and compete against an outstanding NCAA Division I program. More importantly, we are excited to use this game to raise awareness and help support the Cure FA Foundation. We would love to see this be an event the Wabash Valley and Rose-Hulman communities can get behind. There is a lot of excitement within our program for this game, and we hope to see a great crowd on October 18^th to support our two programs and a cause that is bigger than baseball."

Indiana State Head Coach Tracy Archuleta has personal ties to the disease, with his son, Sam, living with the disorder. This is what inspired the annual tradition for Indiana State baseball and gives the charitable organization a personal connection to Coach Archuleta and the Sycamores. 

"Playing Rose-Hulman in our CureFA game is about much more than baseball," Indiana State Head Coach Tracy Archuleta said. "It gives us a great opportunity to bring two outstanding local programs together and, most importantly, get our incredible community involved in a cause that means so much to our family and so many others affected by Friedreich's Ataxia. We're excited to have Rose-Hulman be a part of this event and to bring our fans, families, alumni, and the entire Wabash Valley community together to raise awareness and support the search for a cure. It's going to be a great day at Bob Warn Field, and we're proud to be able to use our game to make a difference."

Tickets for the CUREFA game go on sale on September 18 at the Indiana State ticket office. Fans will also be able to purchase tickets online at GoSycamores.com. The ticket prices are $20 for chairback seats, $10 for general admission.
