TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team opens the 2023 season with a 7-game trip to Georgia beginning on Saturday, February 25 at LaGrange. The Panthers are ranked #2 by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and #3 by D3baseball.com. After a three-game series, the Fightin' Engineers will travel to Emory for a single game before three games at the Piedmont Invitational.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with a 44-player roster under the direction of second-year head coach
Adam Rosen.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season 28-13 and 12-6 in the HCACÂ which was enough for a 3rd place finish. The Fightin' Engineers fell to Earlham in the HCAC Championship.
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish 2nd in the HCAC this season, in a preseason poll of league coaches released in February.

* Rose-Hulman has received preseason notice from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper as they received votes in the NCAA Division III national poll.
* The 2023 roster includes a trio of hitters (
Couillard-Rodak,
Kade Kline, and
Krajecki)Â that played in 75% of games last season.
* The 2023 team also returns eight pitchers who made double digit appearances, four of which pitched more than 30 innings per game last year.
* After the trip to Georgia, Rose-Hulman plays 10 of its next 12 games at home at Art Nehf Field. The home opener is March 11 against Alma. The Fightin' Engineers will also host Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Wabash, and Mount St. Joseph during that 12-game stretch.
OPPONENT NOTES:
* LaGrange comes in at 3-1 with wins over #21 East Texas Baptist, Millsaps, and Emory and a loss to #4 Birmingham Southern.
* The Panthers finished last season 44-9 with a trip to the Division III World Series to finish the year and are picked to finish 1st in the Collegiate Conference of the South.
* Emory comes in at 1-2 on the season with a win over Oglethorpe and losses to Rhodes and #3 LaGrange.Â
* The Eagles finished 25-13 on the season and won a share of the UAA title last season.
* Bridgewater comes in at 0-5 on the season after being swept by North Carolina Wesleyan and McDaniel to start the season. The Eagles play on Sunday against SUNY-Oneonta prior to the Piedmont Invitational.
* The Eagles finished last season 26-17 and were picked to finish in fifth place in the ODAC this season.
* Ferrum comes in at 2-2 on the season after splitting the opening series with Alfred State and a win over Southern Virginia.Â
* The Panthers finished 15-25 last season and are picked to finish in ninth place in the ODAC this season.
* Piedmont comes in at 6-1 on the season with a opening series win over #20 California Lutheran and Piedmont Early Spring Tournament title. They also beat Washington & Lee on Thursday in the D3 Baseball Showcase.
* The Lions finished last season 18-22 and were picked to finish 3rd in the CCS this season.
SERIES HISTORY:
* LaGrange beat Rose-Hulman 8-4 in their lone meeting at Art Nehf Field back in 2004.
* Emory beat Rose-Hulman 5-4 in their lone meeting at Emory back in 1992.
* Ferrum is 2-0 against Rose-Hulman all-time. Ferrum won 11-2 in 1997 and 12-11 in 2003.
* The Fightin' Engineers have never played Bridgewater or Piedmont in program history.
