TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team closes out their 2023 spring trip with a doubleheader at Piedmont College. The Fightin' Engineers will play Bridgewater at 10 am and Ferrum at 1 pm to close out the trip. Both games will be at Piedmont College.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers come in to this weekend with a 1-3 record. Rose-Hulman took one of three games against LaGrange, the #3 team in the country and fell to Emory in a single game.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with a 44-player roster under the direction of second-year head coach Adam Rosen.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season 28-13 and 12-6 in the HCAC which was enough for a 3rd place finish. The Fightin' Engineers fell to Earlham in the HCAC Championship.
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish 2nd in the HCAC this season, in a preseason poll of league coaches released in February.
* Rose-Hulman has received preseason notice from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper as they received votes in the NCAA Division III national poll.
* After the trip to Georgia, Rose-Hulman plays 10 of its next 12 games at home at Art Nehf Field. The home opener is March 11 against Alma. The Fightin' Engineers will also host Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Wabash, and Mount St. Joseph during that 12-game stretch.

OPPONENT NOTES:
* Bridgewater comes in at 2-6 on the season after being swept by North Carolina Wesleyan and McDaniel to start the season. The Eagles have won two of their last three against Penn State Altoona and SUNY-Oneonta.
* The Eagles finished last season 26-17 and were picked to finish in fifth place in the ODAC this season.
* Ferrum comes in at 3-6 on the season after splitting the opening series with Alfred State, but they have lost their last four games against Penn State Harrisburg and Southern Virginia.
* The Panthers finished 15-25 last season and are picked to finish in ninth place in the ODAC this season.

* The Fightin' Engineers have never played Bridgewater in program history.
* Ferrum is 2-0 against Rose-Hulman all-time. Ferrum won 11-2 in 1997 and 12-11 in 2003.
