Baseball to Host Home Opener Against Greenville on Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will now open the 2023 home baseball season on Wednesday with a 5 pm matchup against Greenville University after a late addition to the schedule.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman come in to this weekend with a 3-3 record on their spring trip to Georgia.
* The Fightin' Engineers ended their spring trip with a doubleheader sweep on Saturday against Ferrum and Bridgewater. They also added a win over #3 LaGrange on the trip.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with a 44-player roster under the direction of second-year head coach Adam Rosen.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season 28-13 and 12-6 in the HCAC which was enough for a 3rd place finish. The Fightin' Engineers fell to Earlham in the HCAC Championship.
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish 2nd in the HCAC this season, in a preseason poll of league coaches released in February.
* Rose-Hulman has received preseason notice from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper as they received votes in the NCAA Division III national poll.
* Rose-Hulman plays 11 of its next 13 games at home at Art Nehf Field. The Fightin' Engineers will host Alma, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Wabash, and Mount St. Joseph during that 13-game stretch.

SERIES HISTORY:
* The Fightin' Engineers are 10-9 all-time against Greenville.
* This will be just the fifth meeting between the teams since 2007.
* Rose-Hulman beat the Panthers 5-2 last season thanks to a ninth-inning home run from Brett Tuttle.
* The Fightin' Engineers are 7-5 at Art Nehf Field against the Panthers.
* The first meeting between these two programs came back in 1961 in which the two teams split the doubleheader.
