Baseball Travels to Webster on Tuesday at 3 PM CT

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team hits the road for a trip to St. Louis for a pair of mid-week games with Webster and Wash U. The Fightin' Engineers will battle the Webster Gorlocks on Tuesday at 3 PM CT before visiting the Wash U Bears on Wednesday at 2:30 PM CT.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers come in to this weekend with a 15-7 record and at 7-1 in the HCAC. 
* Rose-Hulman comes into this week with wins in eight of their last nine games. This includes a sweep of Defiance and Mount St. Joseph, a win over Wabash, and winning 2 of three over Hanover.
* The Fightin' Engineers are 14-4 in their last 18 games with their losses coming in a series sweep by #22 Wisconsin-Oshkosh and one to Hanover.
* The Fightin' Engineers currently sits a half game back of Bluffton for first-place in the HCAC.
* After playing Webster, Rose-Hulman will battle Wash U on Wednesday before returning home for a three-game series with Transylvania.

WEBSTER NOTES:
* Webster comes into the weekend at 14-10 and 8-1 in the SLIAC.
* The Gorloks come in off of a three-game sweep of Eureka. They have won eight of their last ten games.
* Webster and Rose-Hulman have just one common opponent this season. Webster fell to Wisconsin-Oshkosh 3-14 and 4-5.
* Three of Rose-Hulman's seven losses also came to the Titans by scores of 0-4, 0-12, and 5-16.
* Parker Wielt leads the team in batting with a .434 batting average and 1.193 OPS.
* Nathaniel Martinez also has an OPS over 1.000 at 1.080. Martinez and Wielt have combined for 23 extra base hits and 51 RBIs this season.
* The Gorloks are a great hitting team with a .311 / .401 / .473 team slash line.
* Alek Elges has been the ace on the hill for Webster with seven starts and a 4-1 record. Elhes has a 3.65 ERA and 0.91 WHIP on the season.
* Joel Ersenault has also been clutch out of the pen for the Gorloks with seven appearances and a 2.70 ERA and 1.37 WHIP while sporting a 3-0 record.
* Teams are hitting just .264 off of the Webster pitching staff this season.
* After batting Rose-Hulman, the Gorloks will return to SLIAC play with a three-game series with Westminster on Saturday and Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY:
* The all-time series between Rose-Hulman and Webster is tied at 2-2.
* The Fightin' Engineers won the last meeting back in 2018, 4-1.
* The Gorloks won in 2016, 6-7. 
* Arguably the biggest win in Rose-Hulman history came back in 2014 when the Fightin' Engineers took down #1 Webster 3-2 in 11 innings to eliminate the top-ranked Gorloks from the NCAA Tournament. The Fightin' Engineers would make the Regional final that year before falling to, now Division I, St. Thomas (MN).
