TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's track and field team competes in their second dual meet weekend of the season as they prepare for next week's HCAC Championship meet. The Fightin' Engineers host their final Friday Night Spikes Tune-Up meet on Friday at 5:30 PM. Then, on Saturday, a group of athletes will travel across town to Indiana State for the Indiana State Open.
* Rose-Hulman comes into the week ranked #16 in the Great Lakes Region, and they currently lead the HCAC in the USTFCCCA conference rankings.
* The Fightin' Engineers have brought home five consecutive 2nd-place finishes in their first five meets of the season , falling to #1 WashU (twice), DePauw (twice), and Ohio Northern.
* Rose-Hulman currently has 14 athletes ranked top-2 in the HCAC, three athletes ranked in the top-10 of the Great Lakes Region, and two ranked in the top-50 of the NCAA Division III.
* Rofiat Adeyemi ranks 1st in the HCAC, 3rd in the Great Lakes Region, and 24th in NCAA Division III in the Triple Jump with a mark of 37' 6.75".
* Adeyemi also ranked 1st in the HCAC and 9th in the Great Lakes Region in the Long Jump with a mark of 17' 4.75".
* Narindwa Semakula ranks 1st in the HCAC, 4th in the Great Lakes Region in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.18.
* Rose Talbert ranks 1st in the HCAC in the 400m Dash with a time of 1:00.48.
* Talbert also ranks 2nd in the HCAC in the 60m Dash with a time of 8.12.
* Jocelyn Onstot ranks 1st in the HCAC in the 5000m Run with a time of 18:11.04.
* Onstot also ranks 1st in the HCAC in the 3000m Run with a time of 10:44.42.
* Additionally, Onstot ranks 2nd in the HCAC in the 800m Run with a time of 2:19.98.
* She is also ranked 2nd in the HCAC in the Mile Run with a time of 5:17.00.
* The Fightin' Engineers' 4x400m Relay team of Jada Hunter-Hays, Onstot, Jenae Mona, and Talbert are ranked 1st in the HCAC with a time of 4:19.64.
* Rose-Hulman's 4x200m Relay team of Jada Hunter-Hays, Alex Adams, Emma Johns, and Talbert also ranks 1st in the HCAC with a time of 1:47.76.
* Elsa King is ranked 2nd in the HCAC in the 3000m Run with a time of 10:52.34.
* Kyra Hicks is ranked 2nd in the HCAC in the Triple Jump with a mark of 35' 6".
* Hicks also ranked 2nd in the HCAC in the Long Jump with a mark of 15' 9.75".
* Rose-Hulman has won 5 HCAC indoor track and field championships entering the 2024 season, including titles in four of the last six seasons.
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked as the preseason favorites to bring home the HCAC Indoor Championship this season, narrowly edging out Hanover by a single point in the poll.
* Rose-Hulman has won a total of 7 women's track and field conference championships in program history.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to action next week as they host the 2024 HCAC Championship meet and look to win their 5th title in the last seven seasons.

FRIDAY OPPONENT NOTES:
Anderson
* The Ravens comes in ranked #8 in the HCAC this season.
    * The 4x400m relay team leads Anderson with a time of 4:33.62 which is the lone top-50 mark in the Great Lakes Region for Anderson.
    * The top event as a team for the Ravens has been the 800m Run in which they rank #146 in NCAA Division III.
Earlham
* Earlham comes in ranked #38 in the Great Lakes Region and #9 in the HCAC this season.
    * Abigail Kirby paces the Quakers in the High Jump this season with a mark of 5' 0.25" which ranks 21st in the Great Lakes Region.]
* Earlham's top event on the season has been the 60m Dash in which they are ranked #230 in NCAA Division III.
Franklin
    * The Grizzlies come in ranked #30 in the Great Lakes Region and #5 in the HCAC this season.
    * Franklin is led Sarah O'Day in the 200m Dash with a time of 25.83 which ranks 10th in the Great Lakes Region this season.
* The top event as a team for the Grizzlies has been the Weight Throw in which they rank #106 in NCAA Division III.
