TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman men's indoor track & field team hosted the 2024 HCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. The team came away with a first-place finish with a team score of 193 defeating Manchester by a small margin of four points. This is second consecutive HCAC indoor title and their 13th title in the last 14 years. 

Tim Youndt was named the Jumps Athlete of the Year after placing first in the triple jump with a mark of 46' 7.5", and fourth in the long jump with a mark of 22' 0.25".

Jailen Hobbs received the Sprint Athlete of the Year after his dominate performance claiming event wins in the 60-meter dash (6.83), 200-meter dash (22.42), and as the anchor for the 4x200-meter relay (1:30.30).

The 4x200-meter relay team of Prescott Brackett, Jack Cox, Ian Lemons, and Hobbs set a new HCAC record, Rose-Hulman school record, and SRC facility record with their time of 1:30.30.

Other individual event winners included Kyle Brownell in the high jump (6' 6.25") and Kolton Nanko in the pole vault (14' 1.25").

Rose-Hulman stood tied for first place with Manchester in the team standings heading into the final event of the evening. The 4x400-meter relay team of Raymond Bates, Andrew Shields, Connor Bodie, and Jacob Eve stepped up to claim a first-place finish with a time of 3:26.37 to secure the victory for the Fightin' Engineers.

The team will look ahead to travel some individuals to the NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach on Friday, March 8th and Saturday, March 9th.
