TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team continues their 2024 spring trip on Wednesday afternoon as they take on Moravian at 1 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman baseball continues their eight game spring trip with four games in Orlando in the next four days.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished their season opening series with Emory with a 1-2 overall record. Rose-Hulman won the first game on Saturday by a score of 11-9, but they fell 11-6 and 16-4 in the final two games.
* Rose-Hulman picked up a win in the first game of their RussMatt invitational on Tuesday with a 6-5 comeback win over Dubuque.
* The Fightin' Engineers will continue their Southern trip in Orlando, Florida with games in the 2024 RussMatt Invitational against Grove City (DH on Mar. 1) and Houghton (Mar. 2).
* Rose-Hulman opens their third season under head coach
Adam Rosen as the Fightin' Engineers look to bounce back from a 23-21 season in 2023 that included a 13-9 record in the HCAC.

Connor O'Connell leads the team in batting this year with a .438 batting average and 7 hits. He also recorded the team's only triple and has the most extra base hits on the team with 2.

Kade Kline has a .500 on-base percentage this season, and he has ridden his 2-home run and 5 RBI game in the season opener to a team-best .714 slugging percentage.

Josh Erpenbeck completed the Rose-Hulman comeback on Tuesday with a two-out, two-RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Fightin' Engineers their first and last lead of the game.
* On the mound, the Fightin' Engineers have ridden their bullpen as no starter has made it out of the fifth inning thus far this season.

Jonathan Oliger is one of four pitchers with a 0.000 ERA this season, and the closer leads the team with a 0.182 opponent batting average this year in his two saves.
*Rose-Hulman was selected fourth overall in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll. The Fightin' Engineers received 62 poll points.
* After their spring trip, the Fightin' Engineers return to action with a three-game series against Calvin on March 15 and 16.
DUBUQUE NOTES:
* Moravian enters Wednesday's game at 3-0 overall to open the 2024 season.
* The Greyhounds picked up a win over Kean (3-2) in the season opener, and they swept FDU-Florham in a doubleheader with wins of 10-2 and 10-9.
* Moravian is set to compete in the RussMatt Invitational with nine games over the next six games. After playing Rose-Hulman, the Greyhounds will tkae on Wartburg, Gordon-MA (DH), Marymount-VA (DH), Illinois College, Siena Heights-MI, and Penn State-Abington.
* As a team, the Spartans have struggled at the plate with a slash line of .250 / .423 / .405, but they are averaging 8 runs and 7 hits per game.
* The Greyhounds have been running wild in their first three games with nearly 5 stolen bases per game to start the season.
* Nick Henry leads the Greyhounds this season with 4 hits, 2 doubles, and a home runfor a 1.583 OPS through three games.
* Paul Hamilton leads Moravian in RBIs this season with 5, and he joins Henry as the only two players with home runs on the year.
* David Olsakowski leads the team with 4 stolen bases, and he boasts a very impressive .462 on-base percentage.
