TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team will begin HCAC play hosting Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday, March 23 at 1 PM and 4 PM before traveling to face Franklin College on Sunday, March 24 at 12 PM and 3 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» Rose-Hulman enters their conference opener against the Lions with a record of 8-5 overall.
» The team earned a win in their last game over Greenville on Wednesday night with a final score of 13-5.
»
Jackson Summers was the standout in the win over the Panthers with three hits and three runs scored including the first home run of his college career.
» The Fightin' Engineers went 2-1 in their three-game series against Calvin last weekend.
» The team earned wins in the first two games 12-2 and 11-7 before dropping the third game 13-1.
» Rose-Hulman leads the conference and ranks fourth in the nation with 19 double plays this season.
» The team ranks third in the nation in double plays per game with 3.

Kade Kline leads the team in nearly every single batting category this season. He is hitting 0.471 on the season with a 0.556 on-base percentage, 0.804 slugging percentage, and a 1.360 OPS.
» Kline leads the team with 24 hits, three triples, three home runs, 21 runs scored, eight extra-base hits, 16 RBIs, and eight stolen bases.
» Kline also hit for the first cycle in school history in the Fightin' Engineers' last win of the Florida trip against Houghton.

Colter Couillard-Rodak is the other standout at the plate batting .300 with 15 hits, 10 RBIs, and 11 runs scored.
»
Mason Rasmussen has been an on-base machine with a 0.455 on-base percentage despite hitting just 0.226 on the season. He leads the team with 13 walks this season.

Michael Yager has been the ace on the mound leading the team with 17.1 innings pitched and 13 strikeouts.
»
Schuyler Wilcox has also made an impact on the hill with a team-leading 1.08 ERA pitching 8.1 innings with a 2-0 record.
» The Fightin' Engineers will travel to Franklin College on Sunday, March 24 for a doubleheader at 12 PM and 3 PM. After that, the team will return home to host Wabash on Wednesday, March 27 at 6 PM.
MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
» Mount St. Joseph enters the weekend doubleheader with a record of 5-9 overall this season.
» The team returns from their spring trip to Florida where they went 2-5 earning wins over Ohio Northern and Elmhurst.
» Martin Brennan leads the team with a .333 batting average, two home runs, a .479 slugging percentage, and 13 RBIs.
» Jake Lawson is another player to watch leading the team with 12 runs scored, and an on-base percentage of .433.
» Derek Richter leads the team on the mound with 16.2 innings pitched and 13 strikeouts.
» Ethan Mason has also made an impact with a team-high 1.38 ERA with 13.0 innings pitched and 12 strikeouts.
» Mount St. Joseph will return home to host Bluffton University on Sunday, March 24 at 1 PM and 4 PM.
FRANKLIN NOTES:
» The Grizzlies are set to face Defiance College in a doubleheader on Saturday March 23 before facing the Fightin' Engineers on Sunday.
» The team enters the weekend with a record of 9-4 overall this season.
» Franklin has won their last four games defeating Wilmington 20-9 and sweeping their three-game series with Trine 12-7, 13-10, and 18-3.
» Tysen Lipscomb leads the team with a .442 batting average totaling 23 hits, 17 runs scored, six doubles, and a slugging percentage of .788.
» Sean Sullivan has also been an offensive weapon totaling 17 runs scored, 21 hits, and a team-high seven home runs and 26 RBIs.
» Matthew Johnson has been a quality starter on the mound with a record of 2-0 pitching 21.0 innings with a team-high 19 strikeouts.
»Jackson Young is also a standout with a team-leading 3.00 ERA pitching 18.0 innings with 17 strikeouts.
» After facing the Fightin' Engineers, Franklin will travel to face Manchester University in a three-game series on Friday, March 29 at 12 PM and 3:30 PM, and Saturday, March 30 at 12 PM.
MOUNT ST. JOSEPH SERIES HISTORY:
» Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 31-17 overall against the Lions.
» The Fightin' Engineers have won the last eight games against MSJ dating back to the 2021 season.
» Rose-Hulman swept Mount St. Joseph last season with scores of 8-5, 10-8, and 10-9 with the last two game of the series going to extra innings.
