Baseball Travels to Face Transylvania in HCAC Action This Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team will return to HCAC play on the road traveling to take on Transylvania in a three-game series this weekend. The team will face the Pioneers on Friday, March 29 at 7 PM, and Saturday, March 30 at 1 PM and 4 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» Rose-Hulman enters the weekend with a record of 11-7 overall and 3-1 in the HCAC. 
» The Fightin' Engineers are coming off a loss to Wabash College on Wednesday with a final score of 8-2.
» The team opened their conference schedule with a split against Mount St. Joseph falling in the first game 7-3 and winning game two 12-6, and they continued their success in the opening HCACweekend with a sweep over Franklin College, 11-5 and 7-4 on Sunday.
» The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish fourth in the conference receiving 62 points in the league's preseason poll.
» Rose-Hulman leads the conference and ranks third in the nation with 24 double plays this season. 
» The team also ranks third in the nation in double plays per game with 1.33.
» Kade Kline leads the team in nearly every single batting category. He is hitting 0.405 on the season with a 0.676 slugging percentage, .483 on-base percentage, and a 1.159 OPS.
» Kline leads the team with 30 hits, three triples, four home runs, 26 runs scored, nine extra-base hits, 22 RBIs, and eight stolen bases.
» Earlier this season, Kline was the first player to hit for the cycle in school history in the Fightin' Engineers' last win of the Florida trip against Houghton.
» Connor O'Connell has been another standout a the plate with a .328 batting average totaling 22 hits, 11 runs scored and 21 RBIs.
» Coulter Couillard-Rodak has also been impactful with 22 hits, 16 runs scored, and 15 RBIs.
» Michael Yager leads the Fightin' Engineers on the mound with 23.2 innings pitched and 22 strikeouts this season.
» Camden Judson has also been a strong performer with a team-leading 2.45 ERA and .82 WHIP.
» The Fightin' Engineers will return home to host Bluffton in a three-game series on Saturday, April 6 at 3 PM and 6 PM, and Sunday, April 7 at 12 PM. 

TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
» Transylvania enters the weekend series with a record of 14-5 overall and 2-2 in the HCAC. 
» The Pioneers come off a split in their road doubleheader against Manchester winning game one 12-7 and falling to the Spartans in game two 4-2. 
» Trent Youngblood leads the Pioneers with 32 hits, nine doubles, four home runs, a batting average of .478, slugging percentage of .821, and on-base percentage of .628. 
» Youngblood also leads the conference with 18 stolen bases this season.
» Calvin Schubert is another offensive threat for the Pioneers with 22 hits, 22 runs scored, 14 RBIs.
» Luke Patton is the ace on the mound pitching 31.0 innings with 30 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.03.
» After facing the Fightin' Engineers, Transylvania will travel to face Spalding University on Tuesday, April 2 at 7 PM.
