Men's Track & Field Rides 11 Top-2 Finishes to 2nd Place at HCAC Meet

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team brought home a 2nd-place finish from the 2024 HCAC Championships over the weekend after taking 11 top-2 finishes from the Fightin' Engineers.

Jailen Hobbs was the star of the show for Rose-Hulman with a pair of school records, HCAC records, and top-5 times in Division III. He won the 200m Dash with a time of 21.19 that broke both records and ranked #5 in the nation. He also ran the fastest time in NCAA Division III this season with a 10.25 in the 100m Dash.

Hobbs was named the HCAC Men's Sprints Athlete of the Year for the sixth time in his college career.

Kyle Brownell, Antoine Cooper, Cole Patton, and Tim Youndt each brought home individual event titles in the HCAC meet for Rose-Hulman.

Prescott Brackett added a career-best time of 21.51 seconds in the 200m Dash which ranks 20th in NCAA Division III this season, 5th in HCAC history, and 2nd in school history. His time in the 100m Dash of 10.70 seconds also ranked 2nd best in school history.

Caleb Heldman and Jack Cox rounded out the sprints for Rose-Hulman. Heldman's time of 10.85 ranked 3rd in school history and gave the Fightin' Engineers 1, 2, and 3 in Rose-Hulman history in just one race. Cox ran the 5th-fastest time in the 200m Dash with a 20.01 which gave Rose-Hulman the 1, 2, and 5 marks in Rose-Hulman history.
