Baseball Hosts Bluffton in Three-Game Series This Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team hosts HCAC opponent Bluffton University this weekend in a three-game series. The Fightin' Engineers will face the Beavers on Saturday, April 6 at 3 PM and 6 PM, and Sunday, April 7 at 12 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» Rose-Hulman enters the weekend with a record of 11-10 overall and 3-4 in the HCAC. 
» The Fightin' Engineers are coming off three straight losses against Transylvania this past weekend. 
» The team fell to the Pioneers with final scores of 13-8, 5-4, and 16-6. 
» The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish fourth in the conference receiving 62 points in the league's preseason poll.
» Rose-Hulman leads the conference and ranks fourth in the nation with 26 double plays this season. 
» The team also ranks third in the nation in double plays per game with 1.24.
» Kade Kline leads the team with a .386 batting average, 34 hits, 28 runs scored, four home runs, 22 RBIs, and nine stolen bases.
» Earlier this season, Kline was the first player to hit for the cycle in school history in the Fightin' Engineers' last win of the Florida trip against Houghton.
» Michael Stenger has been another standout at the plate leading the team with a 1.098 OPS, .636 slugging percentage, and .462 on-base percentage.
» Colter Couillard-Rodak has also been a strong bat for the Fightin' Engineers with 27 hits, 10 runs scored and 18 RBIs.
» Michael Yager leads the Fightin' Engineers on the mound with 30.0 innings pitched and 26 strikeouts this season.
» Jonathan Oliger has been another great pitcher for Rose-Hulman with a team-high 2.57 ERA.
» The Fightin' Engineers hit the road to take on Washington University on Tuesday, April 9th at 3 PM CT. 

BLUFFTON NOTES:
» Bluffton enters the weekend with a record of 9-12 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC. 
» The team will face Ohio Northern on Thursday, April 4 at 4:15 PM before taking on the Fightin' Engineers. 
» Justin Maurer leads the Beavers with a .414 batting average totaling 28 runs scored, five home runs, 22 RBIs, a .586 on-base percentage, and .729 slugging percentage.
» Jake Baumgartner is another standout at the plate with 32 hits this season, 20 runs scored, and a batting average of .344.
» Riley Reyna leads the team on the mound with 25.1 innings pitched and a 3.55 ERA.
» After facing Rose-Hulman, Bluffton will travel to take on Wittenberg on Wednesday, April 10 at 6 PM.

» The Fightin' Engineers lead the all-time series between both teams with a record of 43-9 against the Beavers.
