Baseball Faces Mount St. Joseph in Elimination Game at 4:30 PM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team continues the HCAC Tournament facing Mount St. Joseph in an elimination game today at 4:30 PM. The weekend tournament is held at Kokomo Municipal Stadium in Kokomo, Indiana. General admission is $10 per day with children 11 and under getting in for free.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
» Rose-Hulman earned the #3 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with a record of 23-17 overall and 14-8 in the HCAC. 
» The Fightin' Engineers defeated Franklin in their first game of the tournament in a shutout win with a final score of 5-0. 
» Michael Yager pitched a gem in the Rose-Hulman win going the entire 9.0 innings with eight strikeouts allowing just five hits and no runs. 
» Rose-Hulman suffered a loss in their second game to Transylvania with a final score of 7-2.
» Rose-Hulman was picked to finish fourth in the conference receiving 62 points in the league's preseason poll.
» The team leads the conference and ranks eighth in the nation with 40 double plays this season. 
» The team also leads the conference and ranks 10th in the nation in double plays per game with 1.00.
» Kade Kline leads the team with a .363 batting average, a .993 OPS, 54 runs scored, 66 hits, six triples, and six home runs.
» Earlier this season, Kline was the first player to hit for the cycle in school history in the Fightin' Engineers' last win of the Florida trip against Houghton.
» Connor O'Connell has been strong performer for the Fightin' Engineers with a .348 batting average, 31 runs scored, 56 hits, and a team-high 53 RBIs.
» Michael Yager leads the Fightin' Engineers on the mound with 70.0 innings pitched and 63 strikeouts. 
» Jonathan Oliger has been the team's star reliever with five saves and a 3.77 ERA.
» With a win, the Fightin' Engineers will advance to play the winner of Anderson and Franklin on Saturday, May 10 at 12 PM.

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
» Mount St. Joseph earned the #4 seed in the HCAC Tournament and will enter their game against Rose-Hulman with a record of 21-20 overall.
» The team defeated Anderson in their first game with a final score of 11-10 before falling short in their second game against Hanover 10-7. 
» Anton Mere is the standout for the Lions at the plate leading the team with 64 hits, 37 runs scored, 30 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases. 
» Aidan Post leads the team on the mound with 53.1 innings pitched and 31 strikeouts. 
» A win advances the Lions to face the winner of Anderson and Franklin on Saturday, May 10 at 12 PM.
