Today's senior spotlight is Jonathan Oliger, a Chemical Engineering major from Dalton City, Illinois. Oliger is a senior on the Rose-Hulman baseball and football teams, and he earned 2nd-Team All-HCAC honors last season and ranks 3rd in school history with 10 career saves.

RHITSports: What are you looking forward to most about returning to Rose-Hulman for preseason workouts?
Jonathan Oliger: I'm looking forward to getting back to work with my teammates, meeting the new class of freshmen, and competing throughout the fall. It will also be my first time balancing fall baseball with football season.

RHITSports: What is your most memorable moment at Rose-Hulman throughout the last three years?
Oliger: Walking off against Mt. St. Joseph during an elimination game last spring was the most memorable for me, both scoring the winning run and extending our season and our seniors' careers.

RHITSports: What is your biggest hidden talent?
Oliger: I'm not sure how hidden they are, but I can play a pretty solid round of disc golf and win a few MarioKart races on the old Wii.

RHITSports: What are your future plans after graduating from Rose-Hulman?
Oliger: I'm planning on staying in the Midwest and working in a manufacturing facility.

RHITSports: Who has made the biggest impact on your life?
Oliger: My dad has had the most significant influence on me in many ways from coaching my sports teams to teaching me how to treat others to inspiring me to follow in his footsteps as a chemical engineer.

RHITSports: What is the best piece of advice that you can give to the incoming freshmen at Rose-Hulman?
Oliger: My best advice is to work hard to always be prepared for any challenges and take advantage of opportunities--on the field, in the workplace, and in the classroom.
