Fightin' Engineers Thrash Earlham on the Road

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. – The Fightin' Engineers extended their unbeaten streak to three, as they took down the Earlham Quakers by a score of 4-0.
 
Ryan Shapiro delivered the opening shot of the game, where his sixth-minute strike down the middle was saved by Ryland Wamsley.
 
Been Neemann added a 21st-minute shot towards the right side of the goal, which would also be deflected away, keeping the game tied 0-0 at halftime.
 
The Rose-Hulman defense only allowed one shot on goal throughout the first 45 minutes of action, which was saved by Justin Burns.
 
Greyson Hovermale came out swinging in the second half, quickly firing a shot on goal one minute in. Shapiro would follow that up by adding his second shot on goal of a penalty kick in the 54th, but he would be denied on a great save by Wamsley.
 
Rose-Hulman continued to thrive on the offensive end, and they were awarded a 62nd-minute free kick. Oliver Fila took the free kick, where he lobbed a pass towards the goal. Fila's cross connected with Nick Phillips, where he headed in the first goal of his career to give Rose-Hulman the lead.
 
The Quakers had an opportunity to tie the game two minutes later, but their shot on the right side was saved by Burns.
 
Just seven minutes after their first goal, Chase Kedzior put the Fightin' Engineers up by two, as he fired an unassisted shot from the top of the box into the right corner of the goal.
 
Earlham would once again try to respond with a shot on goal from the right side in the 76th, which was caught by Burns for his third save of the game.
 
The Fightin' Engineers continued to thrive on the offensive end as they were awarded their fourth corner kick in the 79th minute. Kedzior took the corner, lobbing his pass towards the left side of the goal, which was headed in by Phillips for his second goal of the game.
 
With Rose-Hulman on the attack three minutes later, Evan Lipsky made a dump-off pass to Eli Miller. Miller hauled in the pass and rolled his shot past Earlham's keeper to secure the 4-0 victory.
 
Rose-Hulman will stay on the road as they face Transylvania on Saturday, October 18, at 3:30 PM.
