Baseball Wraps Up Weekend Series Against Centre Sunday at 1 PM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team will return to action this weekend for a three-game series with Centre. The team will play on at 5:30 PM on Friday night in the series opener with the following two games at 1 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers started their season with a thrilling win over Mount Union in extra innings with a final score of 9-7 to start the year at 1-0.
* Rose-Hulman has been picked to finish third in the HCAC preseason coaches poll receiving 67 points. 
* Hanover was picked to finish second and Transylvania was picked to win the league with 79 points and seven first-place votes. 
* Rose-Hulman finished last season with an overall record of 25-19 and a conference record of 14-8. The team advanced to the consolation bracket semifinals in the HCAC with wins over Franklin and Mount St. Joseph. 
* The team ended their season with a loss to Anderson in the consolation semifinal.
* The Fightin' Engineers return a trio of All-HCAC selections including Kade KlineJonathan Oliger, and Connor O' Connell.
Peter Rogers and Colton Brown have also been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
Kade Kline was named third-team All-Region from D3baseball.com and the ABCA last season, finishing the year with a .354 batting average, a .414 on-base percentage, a .568 slugging percentage, and a .982 OPS.
* Kline also finished the season with 68 hits, 21 extra-base hits, 7 home runs, and six triples. 
* After traveling to Centre, Rose-Hulman will travel to face Greenville on Wednesday, March 5, at 3 PM CT. 

CENTRE NOTES:
* Centre stands at 4-1 overall this season after wins over Wooster, Carthage, and Brevard to start the year. 
* The team ranked #25 in the ABCA preseason poll and is currently receiving votes in the d3baseball.com rankings. 
* The team comes off a doubleheader sweep over Brevard with final scores of 6-5 and 10-5. 
* Centre will face Asbury on Tuesday, February 25, at 6 PM before hosting Rose-Hulman. 
* Ben Prather leads the team with a .524 batting average totaling 11 hits and two doubles this season. He also leads the team with five RBIs.
* Ayden Lohr is the team's leader in runs scored this season with six. 
* Centre's top pitcher is Harrison Cowdrey totaling 11.0 innings pitched, 14 strikeouts, and an ERA of 0.82.
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, Centre will host Wittenberg on Wednesday, March 5, at 6 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 28-4 against Centre. 
* The Fightin' Engineers fell short in their last match up during the 2006 season with a final score of 7-6. 
* Before that game, the team had won 19 straight games over the Colonels dating back to the 2001 season.
* Rose-Hulman has an all-time away record of 11-2 when traveling to take on Centre.
