TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- We are less than one week away from the 2025 Rose-Hulman softball season which means it is time to break down the schedule. The full schedule can be seen
HERE.
The Fightin' Engineers will open the season with ten games at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, Florida from March 3 to March 7 where they will take on eight teams from eight different states on their spring trip. The opening week opponents for the Fightin' Engineers include Concordia-Chicago, Concordia (MN), Dubuque, Houghton, John Carroll, Misericordia, Mount Mary, and Rivier. The games against Rivier on March 4 and Mount Mary on March 6 will mark the first-ever meetings between Rose-Hulman and these schools.
Rose-Hulman will open their 2025 home slate on March 23 as they host the Webster Gorloks for a doubleheader. The Fightin' Engineers will host Blackburn on March 30 in their final home non-conference doubleheader of the season.
The Fightin' Engineers will also hit the road for a pair of non-conference doubleheaders including Greenville on March 22 and Spalding on April 17.
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play kicks off on Saturday, March 29 as Rose-Hulman travels to Transylvania for an HCAC doubleheader. The Fightin' Engineers will also return to the road three more times in conference play to take on Franklin (April 16), Hanover (April 23), and Anderson (April 30).
Rose-Hulman will also host four HCAC doubleheaders with Anderson (April 13), Franklin (April 24), Hanover (May 1), and Transylvania (May 4) all coming to Terre Haute this season.
The top six teams in the HCAC will qualify for the HCAC Tournament from May 8-11 which will be played on the campus of the HCAC Regular Season champions.
The Fightin' Engineers will play two teams that made the 2024 NCAA Division III Tournament. The Transylvania Pioneers earned the #3 seed in the Berry Regional last season, and they took down the #2 seed Huntingdon with a 2-0 win in the opening round. However, they were bounced from the tournament in their next two games with a 1-0 loss to Maryville (TN) and a 5-0 loss to Berry. The Greenville Panthers earned the #4 seed in the WashU Regional and shocked the tournament with a 7-5 win over the hosts, but they too were bounced in their next two games with a 7-2 loss to Belhaven and an 11-4 loss to WashU.
