Baseball Begins HCAC Play This Weekend Against Earlham and Berea

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team will begin conference play traveling to face Earlham on Saturday, March 22, at 1 PM and 4 PM. The team will return home to host Berea to continue conference play on Tuesday, March 25, at 2 PM and 5 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter the weekend with a record of 6-6 overall this season.
* The team has played a competitive schedule to start the year facing some of the top teams in the nation. 
* Rose-Hulman comes off a four-game series sweep over Elmhurst last weekend with scores of 8-6, 15-4, 11-10, and 10-7.
* Peter Rogers leads the team at the plate with 19 hits, five doubles, a batting average of .388, and an on-base percentage of .474.
* Rogers also leads the team with 10 stolen bases this season.
* Connor O'Connell is another standout for the Fightin' Engineers totaling 17 hits with a .327 batting average, leading the team with 13 RBIs and three home runs. 
* Brady Stawmyer has been the ace on the mound for Rose-Hulman leading the team with 22.2 innings pitched, a 2.78 ERA, and 21 strikeouts. 
* Rose-Hulman has been picked to finish third in the HCAC preseason coaches poll receiving 67 points. 
* Hanover was picked to finish second and Transylvania was picked to win the league with 79 points and seven first-place votes. 
* Rose-Hulman finished last season with an overall record of 25-19 and a conference record of 14-8. The team advanced to the consolation bracket semifinals in the HCAC with wins over Franklin and Mount St. Joseph. 
* The team ended their season with a loss to Anderson in the consolation semifinal.
* The Fightin' Engineers return a trio of All-HCAC selections including Kade KlineJonathan Oliger, and Connor O'Connell.
Peter Rogers and Colton Brown have also been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After hosting facing Earlham and Berea this weekend, the team will continue conference play, traveling to take on Manchester in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29, at 1 PM and 4 PM. 

EARLHAM NOTES:
* Earlham enters the weekend with a record of 6-8 overall so far this season.
* The Quakers come off a sweep over Principia with final scores of 6-5 and 14-0. 
* Noah Rosato leads the team at the plate with a .429 batting average totaling 15 hits, three home runs, nine runs scored, and 17 RBIs.
* Jonathan Jimenez is another standout for the Quakers leading the team with 17 runs scored.
* Casey Blevins leads the team on the mound with an ERA of 2.50 totaling 18.0 innings pitched with a team-high 24 strikeouts.
* Earlham was selected to finish seventh in the HCAC preseason poll earning 31 points.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Earlham will travel to face Hanover on Sunday, March 23 at 1 PM and 4 PM. 

EARLHAM SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series against Earlham with a record of 26-19 overall.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won their last three games against Earlham dating back to the 2023 season. 
* Rose-Hulman defeated the team with final scores of 14-2 and 11-1 in last year's doubleheader. 
* Rose-Hulman has an all-time away record of 14-9 when traveling to face the Quakers. 

BEREA NOTES:
* Berea stands at 5-10 overall entering the weekend. 
* The Mountaineers will host Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday, March 22, at 12 PM and 3 PM before traveling to take on the Fightin' Engineers. 
* The team comes off a loss to Asbury on Monday with a final score of 12-7.
* Marcelo Manrique leads the team with a .400 batting average totaling 22 hits, 23 runs scored, eight doubles, three home runs, and 15 RBIs.
* Fredison Rivera is another standout for the Mountaineers with a .373 batting average, 22 hits, 17 runs, and 11 RBIs.
* Seth Galloway leads the team on the mound with 20.0 innings pitched, an 8.10 ERA, and 23 strikeouts. 
* Berea was selected to finish 10th in the HCAC preseason poll receiving nine points. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Berea will host Earlham in a three-game series on Saturday, March 12, at 1 PM and 4 PM, and Sunday, March 30, at 12 PM. 

BEREA SERIES HISTORY:
* This will be the first time both baseball teams will face each other in the history of both programs.
