Baseball Hosts Hanover Panthers in HCAC Weekend Series

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team will return to conference play, hosting Hanover in a three-game weekend series with games on Sunday, April 6, at 4 PM, and Monday, April 7, at 2 PM and 5 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter their game with Greenville with a record of 10-9 overall and 3-3 in the HCAC this season.
* The team comes off a win in their mid-week game against Greenville with a final score of 6-3. 
Connor O'Connell leads the team at the plate with 29 hits, 18 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .548.
* Peter Rogers is another standout hitter with a .354 batting average, totaling 28 hits, 16 runs scored, seven doubles, 15 RBIs, a .424 on-base percentage, and team-high 12 stolen bases.
Brady Strawmyer has been the ace on the mound for Rose-Hulman, leading the team with 34.0 innings pitched, a 4.76 ERA, and 27 strikeouts. 
* Rose-Hulman has been picked to finish third in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 67 points. 
* Rose-Hulman finished last season with an overall record of 25-19 and a conference record of 14-8. The team advanced to the consolation bracket semifinals in the HCAC with wins over Franklin and Mount St. Joseph. 
* The team ended their season with a loss to Anderson in the consolation semifinal.
* The Fightin' Engineers return a trio of All-HCAC selections, including Kade KlineJonathan Oliger, and Connor O'Connell.
Peter Rogers and Colton Brown have also been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After hosting Hanover, Rose-Hulman will host DePauw on Wednesday, April 9, at 6:30 PM.

HANOVER NOTES:
* Hanover enters the weekend with a record of 8-14 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC.
* The team comes off a loss to Spalding University with a final score of 15-6. 
* Jake Danneman is the top hitter for the Panthers with 29 hits, 27 runs scored, six doubles, 18 RBIs, and team-high six stolen bases. 
* Reid Douglas is another standout with 27 hits, 27 runs scored, six doubles, four home runs, and 24 RBIs. 
* John Girard is the ace for the Panthers on the mound with 32.1 innings pitched, 31 strikeouts, and a 5.29 ERA.
* Hanover was picked to finish second in the HCAC preseason poll with 70 points and three first-place votes. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the team will travel to take on Berea on Saturday, April 12, at 12 PM and 3 PM. 

HANOVER SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 52-20 against the Panthers. 
* The team's split in their doubleheader last season, with Rose-Hulman winning game one 8-4, and Hanover winning game two 6-1. 
* The Fightin' Engineers hold an all-time home record of 21-11 when hosting Hanover.
