Baseball Celebrates Senior Day During Weekend Series Against Transylvania

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team will host Transylvania in a three-game series starting on Friday, May 2, at 6 PM. The team will celebrate Senior Day during their doubleheader against the Pioneers on Saturday, May 3, at 11 AM and 2 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers stand at 20-16 overall and 12-7 in the HCAC. 
* The team comes off a win over Wabash on Wednesday with a final score of 13-6. 
* Rose-Hulman currently stands in a tie for first place in the conference with Manchester, Anderson, and Transylvania.
Connor O'Connell leads the team at the plate with a .356 batting average, totaling 52 hits, 38 RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .575.
* Peter Rogers is another standout hitter with a .327 batting average, totaling 49 hits, 36 runs scored, 14 doubles, 24 RBIs, and a team-high 20 stolen bases.
Brady Strawmyer has been the ace on the mound for Rose-Hulman, leading the team with 56.2 innings pitched, a 4.61 ERA, and 52 strikeouts. 
* Rose-Hulman has been picked to finish third in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 67 points. 
* Rose-Hulman finished last season with an overall record of 25-19 and a conference record of 14-8. The team advanced to the consolation bracket semifinals in the HCAC with wins over Franklin and Mount St. Joseph. 
* The team ended their season with a loss to Anderson in the consolation semifinal.
* The Fightin' Engineers return a trio of All-HCAC selections, including Kade KlineJonathan Oliger, and Connor O'Connell.
Peter Rogers and Colton Brown have also been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After hosting Transylvania, Rose-Hulman will compete in the HCAC Tournament from Thursday, May 8, to Sunday, May 11. 

TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
* Transylvania enters the weekend with a record of 19-17 overall and 12-7 in the HCAC. 
* The team comes off a loss to Spalding on Wednesday with a final score of 12-7.
* The Pioneers currently stand in a tie for first place in the conference with Manchester, Anderson, and Transylvania. 
* Seita Shiratori leads the team at the plate with 46 hits, a .333 batting average, 21 runs scored, and 22 RBIs. 
* Drew Bowles is the team's leading pitcher with 49.2 innings pitched, 66 strikeouts, and a 3.26 ERA. 
* Transylvania has been picked to win the HCAC in the preseason poll with 79 points and seven first-place votes. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Transylvania will compete in the HCAC Tournament from Thursday, May 8, to Sunday, May 11.
