CARMEL, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of women's track & field.
Rose Talbert has been named the HCAC Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the week for her record-breaking performance this past weekend.
Talbert led the Rose-Hulman individuals competing in the Sycamore Open hosted by Indiana State. The sophomore chemical engineering major broke her own school record in the 400-meter dash to claim a first-place finish with a time of 54.98.
Her time solidifies her spot at the national meet, ranking fifth in all of NCAA Division III.
This is the ninth HCAC Athlete of the Week award for Talbert and the seventh of the season. She has won the award the past five times she has been eligible.
Talbert will compete in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships from Thursday, May 22, to Saturday, May 24, in Geneva, Ohio.
