TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Fightin' Engineers achieved a second-place finish at the Friday Night Spikes Larry Cole Open with 149 team points. DePauw placed first overall with 212 points, while Franklin took third place with 64 points.
The team totaled 12 top-three finishes and five event wins.
In the field events, Carolina Synder-Perez picked up a big win in weight throw with a throw of 12.95.
Irene Lema Madueno also won pole vault, clearing 2.97 meters.
On the track,
Rose Talbert claimed first in the 400m with a time of 1:00.85.
Jocelyn Onstot also picked up an event win in the 800m with a time of 2:19.08.
The women's track and field team returns to action next weekend for the Friday Night Spikes #2 at 5 PM, Friday, January 23.
