TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly awards for the sport of women's track & field.
Rose Talbert has been named the HCAC Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Early Bird Invitational.
Talbert was exceptional for the Fightin' Engineers at the Early Bird Invite. The junior chemical and mechanical engineering major broke the school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.80, which leads the conference in the event this season.
The Monticello, Illinois native was also a member of the first-place school record-breaking 4x100 relay team with a time of 49.07. She was also a member of the second-place finishing 4x400 relay team with a time of 4:15.70. The 4x100 time leads the conference, and the 4x400 ranks second in the HCAC this season.
This is the 13th HCAC Athlete of the Week honor for Talbert in her college career with Rose-Hulman.
The women's track & field team will return to action this weekend, hosting the Fightin' Engineers Spring Classic on Saturday, March 28, at 11 AM.
