Women's Track & Field Finishes Third In Outdoor Season Opener

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's track & field team picked up a third place finish in the Early Bird Invitational to start the outdoor season. The team finished with a team score of 135.5, trailing DePauw in second place at 158.5 and Concordia Wisconsin in first at 161.5. 

Rose-Hulman finished the meet with five event wins and 10 top-three finishes. 

Brianna Bittel led the team on the track with wins in the 800-meter dash (2:30.44) and the 1500-meter run (5:04.06).

Carolina Snyder-Perez was the top thrower for the Fightin' Engineers with two event wins in the discus (37.38 meters) and the hammer throw (41.57 meters).

The 4x100-meter relay team of Emma Johns, Rose Talbert, Iliana Hernandez, and Alex Adams also earned an event win with a time of 49.07. 

Rose-Hulman will continue their outdoor season, traveling to the WashU Distance Carnival on Thursday and Friday, March 26 and 27. The team will also look to travel individuals to the North Central First Chance Distance Fling on Friday, March 27.
