Women's Track & Field Lands Runner-Up Finish at HCAC Outdoor Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Fightin' Engineers women's track & field team claimed a second-place finish in the HCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. This is the seventh runner-up finish for the women's track & field team in the conference championship in program history. 

Rose-Hulman finished the meet with six event wins and 19 top-three finishes. Head Coach Shane Mills was named the HCAC Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year. 

Narindwa Semakula earned two event wins in the championship meet, placing first in the triple jump (10.64 meters, 34' 11") and the 100-meter hurdles (14.86). 

Carolina Snyder-Perez led the throwers with an event win in the discus, earning a new school record in the event with a mark of 43.74 meters (143' 6").

The 4x100-meter relay team of Emma Johns, Rose Talbert, Iliana Hernandez, and Alex Adams set a new school record, winning the event with a time of 48.39.

Talbert earned an individual event win in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.40 and a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.22.

Adams was the other individual event winner, claiming first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.49. She also claimed a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.02 meters (16' 5.75").

The Rose-Hulman women's track & field team will return to action, traveling individuals to compete in the St. Francis Fighting Chance meet on Friday, May 8, and the Sycamore Open on Saturday, May 9. 

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Individual event and relay winners shall be considered First Team All-HCAC. All second-place finishers shall be considered Second Team All-HCAC. The third-place finishers in all events will be designated Honorable Mention All-Conference Performers.
