TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hits the road for Manchester University and a key Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Fightin' Engineers would clinch a bid to next week's six-team HCAC Tournament that begins Wednesday. Rose-Hulman would earn either the No. 5 or No. 6 seed with a victory at Manchester in the regular season finale.
If the Engineers can win on Saturday, Rose-Hulman would hit the road on Wednesday for a site to be determined. The squad most recently won the HCAC Tournament championship and qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2011.
Rose-Hulman stands 13-16 overall and 4-4 in conference play entering Saturday's match. The Fightin' Engineers started the conference slate with an 0-2 mark, before winning four consecutive league matches in October to move into the race for a tournament spot.
Freshman Gabi Razma continues to rank No. 6 nationally with 624 total digs, and sophomoer Emily McLendon stands No. 20 in the nation with 107 blocks so far this season.
Manchester enters the match with a 5-21 overall record an a 1-7 mark in conference play. The Spartans have lost nine of their last 10 matches entering the team's Senior Day contest.
