TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Fresh off of consecutive wins, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball teams travels to Hanover for a tri with the Panthers and the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan Saturday, Oct. 11.
The Fightin' Engineers come into the weekend with a 10-12 record including a 1-2 mark in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play. Rose-Hulman play two matches this past week including a come-from-behind, five-set victory over Greenville on Monday and a three-set sweet of Anderson on Wednesday.
As a team, Rose-Hulman hits a .160 clip while holding its opponents to .178. The Engineers have also totaled 148 team blocks.
Individually, five Engineers have recorded over 100 kills led by sophomore Morgan Dreyer with 162 kills. Defensively, sophomore Emily McLendon leads the Rose-Hulman front row with 80 blocks which ranks her 25th in the nation in that category. Freshman Gabi Razma continues to lead the Engineers with 471 digs which ranks 12th in the country.
"I was pleased with our performance against Anderson on Wednesday," head coach Brenda Goble said. "I hope we can carry that confidence and consistency into the weekend."
Hanover comes into the match with a 10-12 record including a 3-0 mark in HCAC competition. Hanover most recently beat Transylvania in four sets on Oct. 8.
Rose-Hulman and Hanover played in a non-conference match at the DePauw Invitational back on Sept. 12. The Engineers defeated the Panthers 15-9 in the decisive fifth set.
Ohio Wesleyan comes into the weekend with a 12-6 record. The Battling Bishops have dropped their last two matches in straight sets.
After the tri at Hanover, the Engineers will face DePauw Wednesday, Sept. 15.
